Social 2 Win Against the Camels

Social 2 played Red Sea Camels at home (6/5/12) in the league at a 1pm kick off. The result was a 4-1 win for Rovers, the first league win for the Social 2 squad. One of the star performers included a certain M Fulco, who scored the first two goals for Rovers with drilled shots from his favoured left wing position. A Red Sea breakaway goal was sandwiched in between those and the Rovers went into half time ahead at the break.

The second half consisted of an even stronger display by Rovers. Pacey right winger Jono was brought down on the edge of the book and the following free kick from the right, whipped in by M Fulco, found its way to Giorgi at the back post after a deflection and this put the Rovers 3-1 up. M Fulco thought he had his 3rd after delightful chipping the keeper from range but this was ruled out for offside. Not finished however, the on-form M Fulco laid a delightful cross for brother S Fulco, who scored aplomb with a deft volley. There were notable other chances for Corfias, Giorgi and D Longo however the game ended 4-1.

The defence was tidy throughout the match limiting opposition opportunities, and there was industry shown down the flanks by the wingers. The team will take a bye game in the next round as an opportunity to recover from a few injuries.
