• Masters Close but no Cigar

10 October 2012 Written by HRSC

Hamersley Masters came so close to securing silverware this season but came up just short in both the league and the cup. Having already finished second in the league by only a point, the cup was the holy grail for the team and the club.

A large crowd had assembled for the cup final day with almost 300 packed into Macedonia Park. Both Hamersley and Mandurah contributing a fair amount to that total.

Despite a fantastic effort the team was defeated 3-1

Masters Cup Semi Final – Hamersley Rovers 3 – 2 Joondalup Utd

The Masters I team have lived life on the edge in this season’s cup competition and Wednesdays victory was no exception. Having already survived no less than 3 penalty shoot-outs, the only other outright victory came in the 2nd round with another 3-2 win against Sporting Warriors. Another coincidental occurrence was that the Rovers had been drawn at home for every round, so with a neutral SF venue at

  • Masters I Go Top

29 August 2012 Written by HRSC

Masters 1 had been waiting for the top of the table (that's ladder for you aussies) clash with rivals ECU and desperate for a win to get in front in the title race.

Roberto Kennedy shuffled his pack and was boosted by AIDS delaying going back to work to play in the big one. Rovers lined up in their now familiar 3-5-2, or is it 5-3-2, or 3-4-1-2 or the good old fashioned xmas tree formation. Shay "top of the morning" Griffen in goal

Masters I Through to Cup Semi's

Hamersley Masters I went into their Cup QF in fine form with 8 consecutive league wins moving them to within touching distance of top of the table ECU Joondalup. The Cup form had not quite been so consistent however, despite the Rovers having been drawn at home for every round their progress to the QF had been somewhat fortunate, 2 out of the 3 victories coming from shoot-outs. The team were therefore under no illusions about the task ahead as

  • Masters I Rout Joondalup

    Joondalup Utd 1 v 7 Hamersley Rovers

Masters 1 kicked off their campaign with a resounding win, but despite the flattering final score line, Rovers were made to work hard by Utd right up until the last quarter of the game. The Masters have almost as many new players in the squad as Man City normally see in August as they look to bounce back from a disappointing showing last term.

Some recent Hamersley Amateur retirees have made the phenomenal leap

  • And Then There Were Two

01 July 2011 Written by HRSC

Three became two as the cup rounds started getting towards the business end of the competition. First to secure a spot in the Quarter Finals was Hamersley reserves. Undefeated all season and up against lower division opposition in Carramar Cougers, Rovers were expected to progress. Which they did in workmanlike fashion with a solid 3-0 win.

Masters I have a good cup pedigree and continued this in season 2011 with a close 4-3 win over Mandurah City from the Masters Premier
