Five Hamersley Teams Into Round 2 Draw

30 April 2011
There were goals a plenty on Sunday as Rovers went on the rampage in their endeavours to reach the next round of their respective cup competitions. The day's efforts saw no less than 43 goals scored and 5 out of 7 teams in action advanced to the next round.
The biggest result of the day saw a whopping 21 goals scored by the Div 1 reserves as they accounted for lowly Belmont Villa (Div 6) in a rout that saw almost every outfield player score.
The First Team were not far behind and they completed Belmont Villa's misery on the day by slotting 9 goals past them without reply. It was a timely win for the Rovers top side, who tasted victory for the first time this season and gained momemtum for their tough road trip to Canning this week.
The Div 5 reserves will also be representing Rovers in the Amateur Reserves Cup next round when they travelled to UWA Div 5 and came away with a resounding 6-1 win. A result which has now seen the team win 4 out of the last 5 games, and they'll be eager to continue their recent good form when they entertain an unbeaten Fraser Park side this week.
The Masters I team also got into the swing of things and they took it to their higher ranked opponents Balga, and booked their place in the next round, courtesy of a 4-0 win in the local derby.
Social II were a few players short and lost 7-0 to Sorrento while the Social I team are through to the next round when their opponents Whitfords City decided to go fishing instead of turn up.
