A big couple of weeks of cup action saw all Hamersley teams in action and looking to progress in their respective competitions with Round 1 of the Sunday Cups to be played on Easter Monday.

First up was our Premier Amateurs in State Coolridge Cup action at the end of March. Despite a brave first half performance, State League Division 1 powerhouse and last seasons cup finalists, Ashfield SC, proved too good and ran out 6-1 winners with all goals coming in the second half.

Our Premier Reserves playing against the same opposition had a horroe first half to be down 5-0 at the break but fought back to "win" the second half with the game finishing 6-2.

In the Sunday Cup our first and reserve teams not only avoided the Preliminary Round but also received a bye through the First Round and will be in further cup action later in the season.

Rovers Division 4 firsts and reserves however suffered two defeats at the hands of South Perth United in the Sunday Cup Premlininary Round. Hamersley went 1-0 down after 10 mins and conceded a 2nd with 80 minutes on the clock. Rovers pulled one back straight away to make it a nervy last 10 minutes for South Perth but they held on for the win. The reserves were on the end of a 6-0 defeat after losing three players before the game.

Hamersley Ladies had a resounding 7-0 win away to Forrestfield United in the Preliminary Round and are rewarded with a home tie against Ellenbrook United in the First Round.

Social I narrowly lost on penalties to Forrestfield after a 2-2 draw while Social II had a bye in the Preliminary Round and play Sorrento in Round 1. Social III had a great win at home to Fremantle Croatia 4-3 and are home to Forrestfield on Easter Monday for Round 1.

Masters I also played Forrestfield and had similar success with an 8-1 win and are rewarded with a bye through to the second round. Masters II are yet to play and have drawn Sorrento in the First Round of the Masters Cup.
